October already? What happened to September?
If you’re looking for a new and different blog challenge and are into genealogy/ancestry or history, please join us for the October Ancestry Challenge 2013.
The goal is to post 23 blogs (Monday through Friday) in the month of October about 23 different ancestors. Do you have photos of your grandparents? Stories passed down through the family? Ancestors who sailed to America and arrived wide-eyed at Ellis Island for the very first time? We can’t wait to read about them!
Let me know in the comments if you’d like to join, and I’ll include a link to your page, and feel free to steal the challenge banner by copying and pasting.
Stop by the participant’s pages daily in October for some interesting history lessons. 🙂

I just posted my first ancestor post and gave credit to you for inspiring me. Thanks for doing this series.
I hope you wrote on your Union grandfather! I’m running over there right now….
I did!
Oh wow. Not only was he a good writer, but reading his first-hand account is haunting and touching. Loved it! I want more.

Lori, this sounds like an awesome idea. I just read about it on P.C.’s blog but I just can’t fit it in this month. Launching my first historical novel, The Loyalist’s Wife, and bringing my own ancestor book to life for my family are two projects scooping all of my time these days. congrats on a great topic for blogs.
Thanks for stopping by, Elaine. Maybe we’ll do it again next year and make it an annual thing. Lord knows, I have enough ancestors to write for the rest of my life. I just did the math: 9000+ ancestors on my family tree divided by 365 days per year = 24+ years of ancestors blogs. Geez. I just don’t have that kind of time. 🙂
Congrats on your new book launch! So exciting. My 4th is coming out in Nov, 5th is in the final stages, and 6th is outlined and ready to be written. There are NOT enough hours in the day.
